Is It Time To Inspect Your Brakes?

In a recent blog post, we reminded you about the importance of using new tires for winter driving. But a properly working brake system is just as important.

Your brakes not only stop your vehicle, they help you control it. If your brakes have been making a lot of noise or you've had to press harder on the pedal lately, it's time to have them examined by an A.S.E.-certified technician at Levin Tire.

Thoroughly checking the brakes involves inspecting the master cylinder, brake lines, brake hoses, brake lining and pads, and parking brake. It's also important to flush the brake fluid and replace it at least every two years.

Even if all the brake components are working, winter conditions could lead you into slippery situations, so check out AAA's free brochure, How to Go on Ice and Snow. You'll find tips on steering and braking through skidding, spinning and loss of control.
